Since they have to focus on multiple areas, they won’t know every possible detail–that wouldn’t be humanly possible–but they should at least have done their homework and have good research to show you. Essentially, you want a realtor who’s knowledgable. All else aren’t worth it.
Back Up.
You want to get a realtor who has people working under them. They’re busy professionals, which means getting a hold of them the moment you call is easier said than done. The realtor you want should have an assistant or two who knows the pertinent facts about your transactions. After all, it would be terribly unprofessional to leave a call unreturned for hours at a time, so they need to have assistants who can return such crucial calls immediately.
Credentials.
Every realtor who sells homes has to be licensed by the state in which they work, according to the National Association of Realtors. You can check with your state government to find out which realtors have active licenses and which are in good standing. After all, who’d jeopardize such a massive investment by working with an unlicensed realtor?
