Here in the United States, home renovations and home remodeling projects are really quite common indeed. In fact, more than half of all home owners (around two thirds of them, to be more specific) are actually in the process of planning out a home renovations project to be started in the near future. From replacing old countertops to changing out old appliances for new ones, there are many things that can be improved upon with the typical home remodeling project here in the United States.
Many people, for instance, are planning to replace their flooring. Fortunately, there are many flooring options to choose from here in the United States. If you’re looking to save a little bit of money but still have high quality flooring, consider laminate flooring. Laminate floors can mimic the appearance of tiles floors, but laminate floors are likely to be far less expensive than their tile counterparts. Laminate floors are also quite durable, with many laminate floors lasting for as many as 25 years when cared for well. At the very least, laminate floors are not likely to wear out before they have been around for at least 15 years. Ideally, laminate floors will be used in the kitchen and bathroom areas, though laminate floors can actually be used throughout the entirety of a home, something that can be ideal anyways, since laminate floors are quite easy to clean.
In addition to laminate floors, hardwood floors are a great option as well. After all, hardwood flooring is, in many ways, an investment for the future. When cared for well, hardwood floors can last for hundreds of years, something that cannot be said for laminate floors or really any other types of flooring that you’ll find in home throughout the country. In addition to this, having hardwood flooring is likely to be hugely beneficial should you ever seek to sell your home. This can be seen in the fact that more than half of all prospective home owners would actually be willing to pay considerably more for a home that had hardwood flooring throughout – or even just in some of the house, if not in all of it.
And getting plush carpet can certainly also be ideal. Of course, there are areas of the home where plush carpeting is less than appropriate. The kitchen, for instance, is not likely to benefit from carpeting of any form. The bedrooms, however, very much will, as the addition of carpeting such as plush carpeting can help them to feel cozier and all the more inviting. It should come as no surprise, then, that more than 40% of all home owners here in the United States (around 44% of them, to be just a little bit more specific) actually prefer carpeted bedrooms over any other type of flooring for that particular space.
And aside from laminate floors and carpeting and hardwood flooring options, there are so many other ways that your home can be transformed. During the process of any given kitchen renovation, for instance, more than 90% of all home owners (around 93% of them, to be, again, just a little bit more precise) will choose to redo their countertops as well. After all, countertops can become dated and worn just like anything else in a home, and replacing them can refresh the space immensely. When choosing new countertops for any given kitchen or even bathroom space, most if not all home owners will choose natural stone materials. From granite to quartz, there are a great many natural stone materials that can be chosen from when replacing your kitchen countertops – and many of these materials are actually likely to be much more affordable than you might have initially thought.
For many people here in the United States, home renovations and remodeling projects are quite important. From improving the living space to getting a home ready to be sold, there are many reasons to undergo such projects – and many different varieties of remodeling projects that can be undertaken. From the kitchen to the bathrooms to even the whole home, the possibilities are endless.
