Man lift equipment is essential for a number of different industries, but many contractors choose to rent the equipment rather than but it since it’s a less expensive option, they won’t need to maintain the equipment, and they won’t be suck with a model of the machine that may become obsolete. If you’re choosing to rent an aerial scissor lift, here are a few things you need to know.

1. Ensure that it’s the equipment you need.
The first thing you need to do before you start looking for a rental company is make sure that scissor lift equipment is actually what you need. This seems pretty obvious, but there are a few different types of aerial lift equipment. A scissor lift can only lift vertically and not side to side. The machine can move, but once a person is hoisted into the air there is not a huge range of movement.

3. Make sure your staff is trained.
Before you actually use the equipment, it is essential that you make sure your team is going to be able to use is safely and properly. Make sure that you know what scissor lift training requirements are and how to get your team prepared. Don’t use the equipment until you’re sure that everyone on the team is qualified to do it.
