Designers are getting increasingly creative with public spaces — and with good reason, too. A compelling facade and/or interior can easily draw in crowds, and help you stand out from the competition.
That’s the idea behind London’s famous restaurant Dans le Noir? The British establishment immerses diners in complete darkness, leaving them to enjoy their meals via their remaining senses — taste, smell, touch, and sound — only. Designers spared no details. “Waiters and waitresses are blind or visually impaired and have been trained to serve meals in the dark,” Woman’s Day adds. The concept — while admittedly bizarre — is easily grabbing people’s attention. Here are some ways you can similarly draw people in with striking interior and exterior design.
Ditch The Blank Canvas
Just about every business you see is making the same mistake. Painting or styling exteriors with a neutral palette is boring. Customers and patrons see hundreds of white, off-white, sand-colored, and light gray restaurants and hotels. That means you can stand out simply by adding color. “In a world of master-planned, one-size-fits-all architectural schemes, exterior color can serve as a structure’s defining feature, bringing character and life to an otherwise blank canvas,” paint experts Dunn-Edwards explain. Striking golds, yellows, and reds are popular choices. Some colors that are a little more understated, such as coffee and sage greens, will also catch the eye.
Choose A Room With A View
Work with what you have. If your hotel, establishment, or restaurant is located near engaging scenery, take advantage of it! Design buildings to play up the view. Views are usually an exception to the rule. Choosing an all-white or chromatic color scheme keeps the focus on the surroundings.
Go Stylish and Economical
For the best interior design, choose stylish and economical terrazzo flooring or tile flooring. “Terrazzo is a flooring material traditionally made by exposing marble chips on the surface of concrete and then polishing until smooth,” HGTV explains. Terrazzo affords you all of the class of more expensive materials, such as marble or quartz, at a reasonable cost. Cleaning terrazzo flooring is also relatively simple, too.
Stand out from your competition with a striking design. Choose bold colors for establishment exteriors, take advantage of any spectacular views, and choose terrazzo floors for a cost-effective and elegant option. For more, read this link: www.trendterrazzo.com
